Tyrone was working for a private security company hired by the US state department to guard the American ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens.
Tyrone and three others were killed during protests and riots directed at the Embassy over an internet film which ridicules the Prophet Muhammad and the Islamic religion.
He was a Navy Seal who retired in 2010 after 20 years in the elite Navy force. He lived in Imperial Beach, California. During his military career, he had been deployed several times to Iraq and Afghanistan. He was also a registered nurse and paramedic.

Family members stated that he thrived on excitement and danger, but was also a dedicated family man.
Tyrone is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Cheryl Bennett; his second wife, Dorothy Narvaez-Woods and their infant daughter, Kai; and two teenage sons, Tyrone Jr. and Hunter, from his first wife, Patricia Ann So.
God save us from the extremists of every religion. They will kill you in the name of God.
Let us pray that Tyrone Woods is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
