She had been murdered.
Faith was a Native American of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe. She was a student at the University of North Carolina. (UNC). Faith was a biology major who won a Gates Millennium scholarship to study at UNC.
More than 1,000 people from the Haliwa-Saponi tribe gathered to grieve Faith's death during the tribe’s annual powwow on September 9, 2012.
Faith planned to return to live with her Native American tribe, which has about 4,000 members, after she finished her studies. Friends stated that Faith loved her ancestry and her Church.
Friends describe Faith as helpful and the sweetest person you could want to meet.
Faith is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her mother Connie; her sister, Rolanda; and her cousins Jonathan and Consuela.
Pray that the murderer of Faith is found and punished.
God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth stealing away life. Amen.
Let us pray that Faith Hedgepeth is in heaven. Let us pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
