Pralli Durrer

Lance Corporal Pralli Durrer, age 26, of Christchurch, New Zealand, died on August 4, 2012, in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained from an insurgent attack against his armoured vehicle.

Pralli joined the New Zealand Army in 2004 and was based at Burnham Military Camp. This was his first deployment to Afghanistan. He had been previously deployed to Timor-Leste in 2006/2007. 

Pralli attended Phillipstown School, Linwood College and Hagley Community College. School officials describe him as a shining star, who was helpful and friendly. He had leadership potential. 

Light a candle for Pralli.
Light his way to Heaven.
Family members stated that they are proud of Pralli and of his service to his country. 

Friends describe him as a genuinely good guy. 

Pralli is survived by many loved ones, including his grandfather; his Aunt, who raised him after his mother had died; and his girlfriend. He was predeceased by both his mother and his father.

Let us pray that Pralli Durrer is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
