Anne Veseth - Firefighter - Idaho

Firefighter Anne Veseth, age 20, of Moscow, Idaho, died in the line of duty on August 12, 2012, in north central Idaho.

She was fighting a forest fire near Orofino, Idaho. She was killed when a tree fell, crashing into another tree which fell on her. This was her second season as a seasonal firefighter.

Anne was a graduate of Moscow High School and a student at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, where she studied auto mechanics.

Saint Florian, Patron
Saint of Firefighters,
pray that Anne is
taken into Heaven.
Anne had completed the safety courses required of every person in her crew.

Family members describe Anne as a woman who made friends easily, who was popular, intelligent and upbeat. She was interested in studying forestry or fire ecology.

Anne loved country music, hiking, working out and going in her truck for long drives in the mountains.

Anne is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her mother, Claire Veseth; her sisters, Rachel and Julia; and her brother, Brian. Anne's father, Roger, died in 2003.

Pray for all who die while performing a public service.

Pray for all who die young.

Let us pray that Anne Veseth is in heaven. Let us pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.

My son is a wildland firefighter. When he was about Anne's age he was on a hotshot crew when a branch fell and killed one of the men on his crew. I was panicked. These kids are such hard workers. I worry about Tony everyday and I am extremely proud of him everyday also. Anne will be remembered with pride and awe! So sorry for your pain.
