Sean Sullivan

Sean P. Sullivan, age 40, of St. Louis, Missouri, died on July 19, 2012, in Oman.

He was killed in a helicopter crash. The helicopter was involved in heavy lift operations when it went down 58 miles from Muscat, Oman's capital City. 

Sean was a Senior Chief Aviation Warfare Systems operator in the Navy. His unit is based in Norfolk, Virginia and assigned to duty in the Gulf.

Sean was known as Sully to his friends. 

He graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1990. He joined the Navy one year after graduating. He was a fourth generation sailor.

Sean Sullivan served in Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and had amassed numerous awards, such as 3 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, an Army Achievement Medal, the Aviation Battle Efficiency Award, and was named Air Crewman of the Year in 2006 for NHA Region Four.

Family members said that Sean had a keen sense of humor and was kind and generous. They are proud of his service to the Navy and to his country. 

Sean is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his father; and his wife, Amy.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray that Sean Sullivan is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
