Ryan David

Major Ryan S. David, age 35, died on July 1, 2012, in South Dakota.

Ryan was a member of the 156th Airlift Squadron of the National Guard based in North Carolina. 

Ryan and 5 other members of his crew were flying a C-130 firefighting tanker aircraft, fighting a wildfire in the Black Hills of southwest South Dakota. They were dropping fire retardant, when the aircraft crashed. 

Ryan was killed in the crash.

Ryan was an experienced navigator. He joined the North Carolina Air National Guard in 2011 after prior service in the active-duty U.S. Air Force. 

Ryan attended and played football at the University of Nebraska. He was a veteran of multiple deployments all across the globe. 

His family describes him as a happy, humble and family-oriented man. 

His wife stated that Ryan was her best friend and a loving father to their son. She stated that she is proud of his service to his country, and that he was a gentleman, who will be forever missed.

Ryan is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his wife, Jenny and their newborn son, Rob.

Pray for all who die in the performance of their duties. 

Let us pray that Ryan David is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
