Matt Tyner - Law Enforcement - Colorado

Officer Matthew Tyner died in the line of duty on July 24, 2012, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Matt was a member of the Colorado Springs Police Department. He was assigned to the Specialized Enforcement Motorcycle Unit. 

He had 13 years of service with the Department and had previously served for 3 years with the Kansas City Police Department.

He was performing traffic enforcement operations on streets in the city at 2:30 p.m. when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle, killing him.

Matt joined the Department in 1999. He served as a Patrol Officer, a Neighborhood Resource Officer and Training Academy Instructor before becoming part of the Specialized Enforcement Division/Motorcycle Unit.

Police officials stated that Matthew had an outgoing personality and that his friendship will be greatly missed by his comrades. 

Matt is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty. 

Let us pray that Matthew Tyner is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
