Leopoldo Cavazos Jr. - Border Patrol - Texas

Border Patrol Agent Leopoldo Cavazos Jr., age 29, died in the line of duty on July 6, 2012, near Fort Hancock, Texas.

He was a member of the United States Border Patrol. He had 6 years of service. 

He was known as "Leo" to his friends and family. 

Leopoldo succumbed to injuries sustained in an ATV accident while on patrol. He was patrolling an area along the border fence, approximately a half mile from the port of entry, when the accident occurred. He passed away in an ambulance on the way to El Paso.

Leopoldo was originally from Houston, Texas and graduated from the Border Patrol Academy in 2006. He had been assigned to the Border Patrol station in Fort Hancock since graduating from the academy. He worked as a field intelligence agent, a safety officer and a first responder. He had also taken part in various border operations in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.

Leopoldo is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife and 2 daughters.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
