Justin Horsley

Spc. Justin L. Horsley, age 21, of Palm Bay, Florida, died on July 22, 2012, in Pul-E Alam, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Caserma Ederle, Italy.

Justin and his twin brother, Benjamin, were born in Yongsan, South Korea, where their late father, Dennis Horsley, who served 20 years in the Army, was stationed.

Justin graduated in 2009 from Bayside High School in Palm Bay where he participated in football, wrestling and track and field. He also earned an associate of arts degree at Brevard Community College.
Father, place Justin on the
Stairway to Heaven

He had been in Afghanistan for only a couple of weeks.

High school officials describe Justin as a good kid and a hard worker.

Family members describe Justin as a calm young man, who was a good listener. He also liked to make friends and make others laugh. He had an adventurous side and went whitewater rafting and sky-diving. He wanted to serve in the Military.

Justin is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his twin brother, Benjamin; and his older brother, John; and his girlfriend Melisia Ahlberg of Sweden. He was predeceased by his father, Dennis Horsley.

Pray for the 21 year olds who die in combat. Yesterday, they were just boys.

Let us pray that Justin Horsley is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
