Juan Legaretta - Law Enforcement - Oklahoma

Officer Juan Legaretta, age 27, died on June 27, 2012, in Oklahoma.

He was a member of the Jenks Police Department in Oklahoma.

On June 26, 2012, Juan was in Oklahoma City with a small group of men seeking employment with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics. He was performing a physical endurance test as a part of his job application.

He started feeling ill at 10 a.m. and was transported to a local hospital. He died the next day.

Juan was a U.S. Army veteran who had served two tours in Iraq.

Friends describe Juan as a fit and healthy man. He is also described as an amazing man.

Juan is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife. He had only gotten married recently.

Light a candle for Juan.
Light his way to Heaven.
It is unsure if this tragedy occurred because of a pre-existing, unknown medical condition or because of the heat in Oklahoma City on the day of this test.

It may be advisable for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics to not conduct physical endurance tests in 105 degree temperatures.   What was the purpose of this test?  To prove that a man could conduct a drug raid in an Easy-Bake Oven?

Pray for all who die young and suddenly. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

Let us pray that Juan Legaretta is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
