Zachary Hargrove

Staff Sgt. Zachary H. Hargrove, age 32, of Wichita, Kansas, died on May 3, 2012, in Bagram, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to the 84th Explosive Ordnance Disposal, 1st Sustainment Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas.

Zachary was found unresponsive in his living quarters. The cause of his death is under investigation.

He was a wheeled vehicle mechanic. Zachary joined the Army in September of 1998. He was assigned to Fort Riley in August of 2008. 

This was his fourth combat deployment. He served three previous tours to Iraq, including one with the 1st Infantry Division Headquarters in 2010. This was his first deployment to Afghanistan.

Zachary's awards include six Army Commendation Medals, six Army Achievement Medals, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, and the NATO Medal.

Zachary is survived by many loving friends and relatives. 

Let us pray that Zachary Hargrove is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
