Shawn Hannon

Sgt. 1st Class Shawn T. Hannon, age 44, of Grove City, Ohio, died on April 4, 2012, Faryab province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained during an enemy attack by a suicide vehicle borne improvised explosive device. 

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Ohio National Guard, Walbridge, Ohio.

Shawn had 20 years of service with the National Guard. He was a lawyer in civilian life. He was a graduate of Capital University law school in Columbus and had been a lawyer for six years.

Light a candle for Shawn.
Light his way to Heaven.
Family members stated that Shawn was proud to serve his country. 

Friends stated that Shawn was well respected and helpful to everyone. Others stated that he was a was a fantastic guy and a wonderful advocate for Ohio’s veterans.

Shawn is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Jamie and their nine month-old son, Evan.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Shawn Hannon is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
