Dale Taylor - Coast Guard

Lt. Cmdr. Dale Taylor, age 35, of Snow Hill, North Carolina, died on February 28, 2012, in Alabama.

Dale was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and was on a training exercise with three other men when their helicopter crashed into Mobile Bay.

Dale Taylor graduated from Greene Central High School in 1995 and graduated from Appalachian State in 1999. He studied criminal justice in college and enlisted in the Coast Guard after graduation. Dale was awarded a medal from the Coast Guard in December of 2003 for jumping into the ocean off the coast of Florida during a storm to conduct a basket rescue of the last survivor of a sinking sailboat.

Family members stated that Dale loved serving in the Coast Guard. They also stated that he was level-headed, kept people laughing and lit up a room.

Dale is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Theresa, and two children, ages four and seven.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Dale Taylor is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
