Robert Marchanti

Major Robert Marchanti, age 48, of Baltimore, Maryland, died on February 25, 2012, from wounds received during an attack at the Interior Ministry, Kabul, Afghanistan.

He was with the Maryland National Guard.

Robert was shot during riots in Afghanistan against Qur'an burnings by Nato personnel earlier in the month.

For years, Robert Marchanti worked as a physical education teacher for Baltimore County Schools. He had served one tour of duty in Kosovo. This was his first tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Saint Simon and Saint Jude, pray
for Robert
Family members stated that he was the best soldier that anyone could have been. They also stated that he greatly loved his wife and was a great father to his children.

Robert is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Peggy; son Aaron; daughter Leah; and 2 other adult sons.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Robert Marchanti is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
