Joshua Weissman - Paramedic - Virginia

Paramedic Joshua Weissman, age 33, died on February 9, 2012, in Virginia.

Joshua was a member of the Alexandria Fire Department. He had 7 years of service with the Department. 

Previously he had spent nine years with the Cayuga Heights Fire Department before moving with his wife to Virginia in 2005.

On February 8, 2012, he was among those who responded to a call regarding a burning vehicle on a local highway overpass. Joshua was trying to reach the vehicle when he fell through a gap in the overpass to a creek 20 feet below. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he passed away the next day. 

Fire Department officials stated that Joshua had a real passion for his job and that he had leadership qualities. They also describe Joshua as committed, dedicated and professional to the end.

Joshua is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Rebecca.
