Chad Regelin

Petty Officer 1st Class Chad R. Regelin, age 24, of Cottonwood, California, died on January 2, 2012, from an improvised explosive device in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Chad Regelin was assigned as an explosive ordnance disposal technician to Marine Special Operations Company Bravo. He was stationed at Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 3, San Diego, California.

Chad had been awarded the honor of being the USO Sailor of the Year for 2011.

Angels of God, pray for Chad
Chad graduated from Anderson Union High School in 2005. He enlisted in the Navy in 2006. He was on his second tour of duty there when he died. He was honored for heroic actions during his first tour, from August 2010 through March 2011, when he personally located and destroyed 24 IEDs (improvised exploding devices), trained 13 commando engineers in counter-IED tactics and fought in more than 20 direct fire engagements.

Family members are grief stricken and state that Chad was doing what he loved to do, which was to serve in the military.

Chad is survived by many loving friends and family members including his parents, Shirene and Scott Regelin; two brothers and a sister.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Chad Regelin is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
