Detective Andrew Faggio, age 46, died on January 11, 2012, in New Haven, Connecticut.

He was a member of the New Haven Police Department. He had 14 years of service.

Conflicting news articles give his age at the time of his passing as 46 and others state that he was 46 at the time of the incident which led to his death, which was 9 years ago. Therefore his age now would be approximately 55.

of the Police, pray for Andrew
Andrew succumbed to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on January 31, 2003, while en route to a stakeout assignment at approximately 4:00 am. He was cresting a hill on Durham Road, in Madison, when he encountered an oncoming vehicle in his travel lane. He swerved to avoid striking the vehicle, but his car spun around and struck a tree. Detective Faggio suffered severe head injuries and slipped into a coma, which he never emerged from.

Police officials stated: "They don't make people better than Andy. They don't make cops better than Andy."

City officials stated that Andy was a terrific cop who cared about his work, his family, and his community.

Andy is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Jennifer, and two sons, Andrew Jr. and Nicholas.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for the wife and sons of Andrew Faggio, who endured 9 years of torment, while Andy was in a coma.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Andrew Faggio is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
