James Edward Hall Jr.

American soldier, James Edward Hall Jr., age 27, died on November 11, 2011, in Miamisburg, Ohio.

James Edward Hall Jr. was known as Jimmy to his friends and family.

Jimmy was severely injured on May 27, 2011, in Afghanistan, due to an improvised explosive device. 

He suffered severe facial burns and shrapnel in his chest. He was returned to the U.S.A. to recover. 

It is believed that he died due to a blood clot or a strain on his heart. He died in his mother's house. He died in his sleep. 

James Hall grew up in Middletown and graduated from Monroe High School in 2003. He joined the Army soon after graduating.

He had previously served a year in Iraq and was in the 10th month of his year-long deployment to Afghanistan when he was injured. 

James had received several awards while serving, including the Purple Heart. 

Family members have described Jimmy as a loving son, husband and father.

James is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Carla Hall; his wife, Laura, his son Aiden James Hall; and his grandfather, Lloyd Taylor. His father, James Edward Hall Sr. had died previously.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jimmy Edward Hall Jr. is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
