He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
Steven Shapiro entered active duty service in March 2010 as an M1 armor crewman. He deployed to Iraq in March of 2011.
