Joseph Wargo - Law Enforcement - New Jersey

Patrolman Joseph Wargo, age 38, of Lopatcong, New Jersey, was killed on October 16, 2011, near Mount Arlington, New Jersey.

He was a member of the Mount Arlington Police Department, in New Jersey. He had over 10 years of service.

His patrol car was struck head-on by a drunk driver at a state highway. The drunk driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crossed the median. The vehicle struck Patrolman Wargo's patrol car head-on and pushed it into a wooded area. Patrolman Wargo was flown to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The drunk driver was charged with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide, and several other offenses.

Patrolman Wargo had served with the Mount Arlington Police Department for 10 years. 

Fellow officers and friends describe Joseph as a dedicated police officer, a reliable man, jovial, a bear of a man with a quick smile and an easy demeanor. They also stated he would help anybody. 

Joseph is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Amy.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Joseph Wargo is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
