Sgt. Christopher Diaz, age 27, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died on September 28, 2011, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
He was assigned to Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California.
This was his first tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Christopher Diaz was a standout cadet in the Albuquerque Junior ROTC. Officials describe him as a good student, an excellent cadet and an outstanding Marine.
Christopher is survived by numerous loving friends and relatives including his mother, father, two brothers and a young son and daughter.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Christopher Diaz is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
