James "Will" Coker

James "Will" Coker, age 59, died on September 5, 2011, in Afghanistan.

He was from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Will was a civilian contractor working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

He was kidnapped from a power plant near Kabul, Afghanistan and then strangled.

Jesus, pray for Will.
Will was a life-long area resident of South Carolina who worked as a civilian at the Charleston Air Force Base for about 20 years prior to his more recent postings. He also built houses in the Charleston area.

Family members describe Will as a deeply religious man who loved his children, who he had raised on his own. He is also described as a workaholic.

He had been overseas for about three months but was expected to return home in about two weeks.

Will became involved in overseas relief missions with local church groups, including missions to Africa.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that James "Will" Coker is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
