Christophe grew up in Strasbourg, France, and joined the French Army at age 18.

Christophe had been in the U.S. Army since April 2010, but he had served in the French Army as a Staff Sergeant from 1992 to 1997.

After his injuries, his wife flew to Germany to be at his bedside and sang their personal song to him - "Happy Together". He had loved that song from the time they began dating — the only one for me is you, and you for me.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Christophe J. Marquis is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
