Francisco J. Briseno-Alvarez Jr.

Spc. Francisco J. Briseno-Alvarez Jr., age 27, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died on September 25, 2011, in Laghman province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. 

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Brigade Combat Team, Stillwater, Oklahoma. 

Francisco graduated from U.S. Grant High School in 2003, and joined the Army National Guard on September 11, 2010.

Family members said that Francisco was a patriot and died serving his country. They also said that he was always smiling and that he was a caring man. 

Military officials said that his loyalty will never be forgotten. 

Francisco is survived by his father, Javier Briseno; mother, Lurdes Alvarez, and two siblings, brother, Adrian Briseno, 24, and sister, Diana Briseno, 18.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Francisco J. Briseno-Alvarez Jr. is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
