Andres Zermeno

1st. Lt. Andres Zermeno, age 26, of San Antonio, Texas, died on September 25, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with a rocket propelled grenade. 

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Polk, Louisiana.

He graduated from the Science Academy in Mercedes. He was the youngest of five in his family.

Neighbors stated that Andres was a model son. He was in his last month of his first tour of duty in Afghanistan. 

Family members stated that he always wanted to join the military and did so after graduating from college three years ago. 

Andres is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents and siblings and his wife, Rachel and his 3 year old son and 19 month old daughter. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Andres Zermeno is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
