Spencer C. Duncan, age 21, of Kansas, was killed on August 6, 2011, in the Tangi Valley of Wardak Province, Afghanistan, when a U.S. helicopter crashed.
Specialist 4 Spencer C. Duncan was serving as a door gunner on the CH-47 helicopter that crashed.

Spencer graduated from Olathe South High School and was a member of Bravo Company, 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment based at New Century AirCenter in Gardner.
Spencer Duncan joined the military in 2008 and had been in Afghanistan since late May. He was stationed at Forward Operating Base, Shank.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Spencer C. Duncan is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
