Jeff was volunteering to help the people in Joplin.
A posthumous medal of honor will also be presented to his family.

Jeff joined the Riverside Police department in 2005 and was its Officer of the Year in 2008. Police Department officials stated that that they are heartbroken over Jeff's death and that he was a dedicated professional doing what he did best - helping those who were in need. They also stated that he was a loyal and dedicated public servant.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jefferson Taylor is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
