Officer Russell A. George, age 47, died in a motor vehicle accident on June 26, 2011.
He was with the Ball, Louisiana Police Department. He was known as "Roscoe" to his friends.

While responding to a call for assistance at around 2:50 a.m., his vehicle struck an abandoned bicycle lying in the inside lane of the highway. George lost control of his vehicle and it struck several trees and caught fire after coming to a rest. The officer was unable to escape the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Let us pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Russell A. George is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
