He was with the 35th Infantry Regiment Belfort.
He was aboard an armoured vehicle when his weapon discharged, accidentally shooting him.

Lionel was born on October 11, 1986 in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer (Northern). He joined the 35 th Infantry Regiment in March of 2005. He served in the Republic of Central Africa from February to May 2006 as part of Operation Boali. He was promoted to Corporal in July, 2007 and became an infantry team leader in September of 2008. He was promoted to Master Corporation in March of 2011.
He is described as very motivated, an excellent athlete and hard-working.
Lionel Chevalier was awarded the medal overseas staples "RCA" and "Lebanon" and the bronze medal in national defense.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Lionel Chevalier is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
