Jamal Clay

Staff Sgt. Jamal Clay, age 25, died on June 25, 2011, at Fort Bragg, during a routine training exercise. 

Jamal was killed when he fell to his death when his parachute failed to open. God help all paratroopers.

Jamal was from Elida, Ohio and was a vehicle recovery supervisor with Company G, 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

Jamal had served two deployments to Iraq and was a married father of two. He joined the Army in 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Jasmine Clay, and two children, Jamier Brown, age 6, and Janye McKenzie, age 2.

Military officials stated that Jamal was the best paratrooper in the company. Everybody wanted to be like him. He is also described as a natural leader and a skilled mechanic.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jamal Clay is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
