Anthony M. Nunn

Pfc. Anthony M. Nunn, age 19, of Burnet, Texas, died on May 30, 2011, in Paktika province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. 

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.

Survivors include his parents, Ted A. Nunn of Gainesville, Texas, and Christina Bennefield of Prosper, Texas; a brother, Matthew A. Nunn of Gainesville; and sister, Savanna R. Nunn of Prosper.

Anthony Nunn joined the Army in June 2010, after graduating from Burnet High School, where he was the band's second chair trombone player. Anthony impressed teachers with his spirit and work ethic.

Anthony is described by friends as very honest and a tireless worker. 

His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Anthony M. Nunn is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
