Steve Jorgenson

Marine Corporal Steve Jorgenson, age 22, was killed when he was run down by a car in New York City, on May 26, 2011. 

He had exited a taxi with some shipmates around 1 a.m. and was in uniform when struck crossing the West Side Highway at W. 49th St.

He had survived nine months in Afghanistan but died on his first night in New York.

Steve, who grew up in Montana and went to high school in Corpus Christi, Texas, had signed on for a 6-month course to learn how to detect and dismantle IED's. 

Family members stated that they are very proud of Steve and that he loved the Marines. 

He is survived by numerous loving family members including his wife - Hope Jorgenson, his father - Chuck Jorgenson and his grandfather - Terrance Jorgenson. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Steve Jorgenson is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
