Terry L. Varnadore II

Chief Warrant Officer, Terry L. Varnadore II, age 29, of Hendersonville, N.C. died April 23, 2011, in Kapisa province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his helicopter went down due to an undetermined cause. 

He was assigned to the 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.

Terry Varnadore joined the U.S. Army in 2005, completed training, and has been serving at Fort Drum since 2007. He deployed with his unit in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in October. He had previously deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009.

Terry's awards and decorations include the Air Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, the Army Aviator Badge and the Combat Action Badge.

Terry is survived by his wife and child, mother and father. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Terry L. Varnadore II is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
