Philip D. Ambard

Maj. Philip D. Ambard, age 44, of Edmonds, Washington, died on April 27, 2011, at the Kabul Airport in Afghanistan.

A financially distressed 50-year-old Afghani pilot opened fire at Kabul airport after an argument, killing seven other U.S. troops and an American civilian contractor. Ahmad Gul, the shooter, was killed in the incident.

God help us all, if everyone who is financially distressed, kills others.

Michael, Archangel,
pray for Philip
Philip was assigned to the 460th Space Communications Squadron, Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado.

Philip was a foreign-language professor.  Philip Ambard served in the Air Force for about 25 years.

Family members stated that he was a great teacher and he was a great father. He was a family man through and through. His whole being was dedicated to his family.

Philip is survived by numerous loving family members including his wife of 23 years - Linda, who has stated "My heart is broken. I lost my best friend and husband....He paid the ultimate cost so that all might live free."

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Philip Ambard is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
