Joseph M. Jackson

Lance Cpl. Joe M. Jackson, age 22, of White Swan, Washington., died on April 24. 2011, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. 

His father, Shawn Marceau, is devastated by the loss of his son. He said that when his son was killed, he lost his best friend. God, help Shawn.

The Marine Corps reports that Lance Corporal Jackson's actions at the time of his death likely saved the lives of other marines.

Joseph Jackson is a hero. 

Joseph has been awarded five medals including the Purple Heart. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Joseph M. Jackson is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
