Ryan A. Gartner

Army Spc. Ryan A. Gartner, age 23, of Dumont, N.J., died on February 2, 2011, of wounds sustained in a noncombat incident, in Afghanistan. 

He was assigned to the 201st Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He was on his second deployment. He is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas and lived in Dumont, New Jersey. 

Ryan left Dumont High School before his scheduled 2005 graduation, then enrolled in a National Guard youth program. He earned a GED and graduated from the program in 2004.

Ryan Gartner planned to leave the Army after his second tour’s scheduled end in March.

He is survived by his father, step-mother, grandmother, brother and sister and numerous other loving relatives. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Ryan A. Gartner is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
