Staff Sgt. Matthew J. West, age 36, of Conover died August 30, 2010, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an IED.He was assigned to the 71st Explosive Ordnance Disposal. He joined the Army in June of 2004 and had been overseas since July, but was there previously from March- September 2006. He was previously in Iraq and joined the unit in January. He grew up in Michigan and his family recently moved to Wisconsin.
Matthew West is survived by his wife and three children.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Matthew West is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
