Liam Riley

British Corporal Liam Riley, age 21, was killed by a roadside bomb in February, 2010, in Afghanistan.

Corporal Riley, of 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, was described by his friend, Prince Harry, as a 'legend' in a rare public tribute. The two young men from very different backgrounds trained together in Canada two years ago to prepare them for the rigours of war. Liam Riley's brother said "'If I had one last chance, Liam, to see you and speak to you, I'd tell you what an amazing brother you've been to me."
'His ability and professionalism stood out from the start. It was clear that he was destined for the highest ranks of his profession. Corporal Riley was blessed with the broadest and most disarming smile you are likely to encounter."

Even the friends of Princes die in these wars. No one is immune to tragedy.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Liam Riley is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
