Stephen Cribben - U.S. Military Fatality - Afghanistan

Stephen Cribben
Sgt. 1st Class, Stephen B. Cribben, age 33, of Simi Valley, California, died in the line of duty on November 4, 2017, in Logar Province, Afghanistan.

Sgt. 1st Class Cribben was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was a Green Beret.

Stephen died as a result of wounds sustained in combat operations. The incident is under investigation.

Stephen was serving in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel which is the U.S. military action against terrorism in Afghanistan.

Stephen was born in Rawlins, Wyoming. He joined the Army in 2002. He had served tours of duty in Korea, Egypt, Iraq and Afghanistan.  

Stephen's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, three Army Commendation Medals, nine Army Achievement Medals, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal and Combat Action Badge.

brother. Stephen died in the service of his country. He will be forever remembered.

Stephen's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was compassionate and kind in spirit. He was loved. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Oceans of tears have been shed for Stephen.

Stephen is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his parents, Leslie and Joe; his wife, Shelley; and his two sons, Connor and Wyatt.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die in a foreign country, far from their loved ones.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Stephen is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Pray, without ceasing, unto God for an end to all war. It is enough.
