Brian Shaw - Police Officer Fatality - Pennsylvania

Police Officer Brian Shaw, age 25, died in the line of duty on November 17, 2017, at a hospital in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania.

Officer Shaw was a member of the New Kensington Police Department. He had 5 months of service. He had served as a part time officer for three years with the Cheswick Police Department, Frazer Police Department and Springdale Township Police Department.

New Kensington is a city of just over 13,000 and is located about 18 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

At about 8:00 p.m., Brian was conducting a traffic stop on a city street. The circumstances of the traffic stop are unknown but the driver of the vehicle fled on foot during the stop and turned and shot Brian who was pursuing him.

Brian was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.

The shooter has not been apprehended as of this posting.

Anyone with information is urged to call the New Kensington police at 724-339-7534. A substantial reward is offered for information leading to an arrest and a conviction.

Brian was from Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania and attended Burrell High School. He studied criminology at Slippery Rock University. In 2014, he graduated from the Allegheny County Police Training Academy. 

The members of the New Kensington Police Department are in mourning over the death of their young brother. Brian was just starting out in life. He was friendly, bright and amusing. He had a winning smile. He died as a hero in the service of others. He will be forever remembered.

Brian's loved ones are devastated by his sudden and tragic death. He was loving and was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Oceans of tears have been shed for Brian.

Brian is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Thank you for your service to the community, Brian.

Pray for justice for Brian.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Brian is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
