Timothy O'Neill - State Police Fatality - Michigan

Trooper Timothy O'Neill, age 28, died in the line of duty on September 20, 2017, in Michigan. 

Trooper O'Neill was a member of the Michigan State Police. He was based in Rockford. He had 3 years and 8 months of service. 

At approximately 7:45 a.m. Tim was patrolling on his department motorcycle when he was involved in a crash with a pick-up truck near an intersection in Plainfield Township. 

Tim was rushed to a hospital in Grand Rapids where, tragically, he passed away from his injuries. 

No one else was injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation. 

Tim was a graduate of Lapeer East High School and of Western Michigan University. 

Tim was engaged to be married in early October of this year. 

Oceans of tears have been shed for Tim. 

Friends describe Tim as happy, bright, compassionate and kind in spirit.

The members of the Michigan State Police are in mourning over the death of their young brother. Comrades stated that Tim had a great personality. He was upbeat, classy and witty. He loved to make others laugh. He was one of the good guys. He will

Tim's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was greatly loved. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Tim is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his mother and father, brother and sister and his fiancée.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Tim is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
