David Wade - Sheriff's Deputy Fatality - Oklahoma

Deputy Sheriff David Wade, age 40, died in the line of duty on April 18, 2017, at a hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Deputy Sheriff Wade was a member of the Logan County Sheriff's Office, based in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He had three years of service. 

Sometime after 8:00 a.m., David was attempting to serve an eviction notice at a residence outside of Mulhall, Oklahoma. 

Three subjects were at the residence. David began checking their identification when one of the men opened fire striking David several times. He was able to return fire and call for assistance. The shooter then stole David's patrol truck and fled the scene. 

Nathan Leforce, age 45, of Perry, Oklahoma, then abandoned the patrol truck and stole another vehicle in a nearby town. A few hours later, Nathan Leforce was arrested by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He has a lengthy criminal history.

David was rushed to a hospital in Oklahoma City where, tragically, he passed away during surgery.

David was a U.S. Army veteran. 

The members of the Logan County Sheriff's Office are in mourning over the death of their brother. He is their hero. He was a likable man who lived like a warrior and died like one. He will be forever remembered.

David's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

David is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and three children.

Thank you for your service to America and to the community, David. 

Pray for justice for David.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that David is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
