Carla was visiting her boyfriend in southeast Houston at his and his father's apartment. Just before midnight, Carla, her boyfriend and her boyfriend's father heard noises outside of the apartment. It sounded as if someone was breaking into cars. They called the Police and went outside.
As they approached the scene, the thieves fled in a vehicle and opened fire. Carla was shot in the chest.
Carla was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, she died of her injuries.
The suspects are described as two black males in a black four-door sedan. If you have information about this terrible crime, you are urged to called the Houston Police at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
To the thieves who killed Carla, we ask this question: What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?
Carla graduated from Chavez High School in 2012 and was attending San Jacinto Junior College. She worked two jobs to pay for her car. She was planning on marrying her boyfriend of four years.
Carla is described as beautiful, smart and family oriented. She had a smile that could
light up a room.

Carla's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She was a good kid who was just starting out in life. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.
Carla is survived by many loving friends and family members including her mother, Yolanda; father, Felix; her brother, Jose; and her boyfriend, Angel.
Pray for justice for Carla.
God save us from the thieves. They are killing us, Father. Amen.
Pray that Carla is in Heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
