Cody Brotherson - Police Officer Fatality - Utah

Cody Brotherson
Police Officer Cody Brotherson, age 25, died in the line of duty on November 6, 2016, in West Valley City, Utah.

Officer Brotherson was a member of the West Valley City Police Department. He had 3 years of service.

West Valley City has a population of under 130,000 and is a suburb of Salt Lake City.

In the early morning hours, three men were involved in several stolen vehicle incidents. They were spotted by Police Officers who pursued them. Officers attempted to lay down spike strips on a city roadway when the vehicle sped towards the officers and struck Cody.

Tragically, he was mortally injured.

Michael, Patron Saint of the
Police, pray for Cody and
for those who have lost him.
The fleeing vehicle crashed several block away. The three suspects were arrested.

To the thieves who killed Cody, we ask this question: What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?

The West Valley City Police Department is in mourning over the death of their young brother. He had always wanted to be a police officer. He was a valued asset to the Department. He will be forever remembered.

Cody's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was a good kid who would do anything for those he loved. He was generous and kind in spirit. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Cody is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his mother and father, his two brothers and his fiancée.

Thank you for your service to the community, Cody.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for justice for Cody.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers. Amen.

Pray that Cody is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
