In the early morning hours, Cassandra was driving with her fiancé in Baytown, which is part of the metropolitan area of Houston.
A pickup truck crashed into the vehicle Cassandra was in.
She was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, she was pronounced deceased.
Raul Tadeo, age 23, was the driver of the pickup truck. He tried to run away from the scene of the crash. However, bystanders held him until the Police arrived. He had to be tased to get him under control.
It is expected that he will be charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and failure to stop.
Raul Tadeo has a prior criminal record. He was in jail a few days before this tragic accident. However, he is innocent unless proven guilty.

A funding site has been set up to help Cassandra's family with expenses.
Cassandra's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She wanted to be a veterinarian. She had plans to attend school. She was a helpful and happy young woman with a kind spirit. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.
Cassandra is survived by many loving friends and family members who will forever miss her.
Pray for justice for Cassandra.
Pray for all who die young. They barely had a chance to live.
God save us from the drunk and the doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father. Amen.
Pray that Cassandra is in Heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
