Karina Vetrano - a Victim - New York City

Karina Vetrano, age 30, died on August 2, 2016, in Howard Beach, New York City. 

Howard Beach is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens.

During the afternoon, Karina went for a jog on a nearby bike path. Tragically, sometime during her run she was attacked and strangled. She may have been sexually assaulted. 

Her father informed the police that Karina was missing when she didn't return from her jog. He joined the police in their search of the area. Her body was found later in the day in a marshy area of Howard Beach. 

Local residents reported that there are homeless hobos and vagrants living in the area near Karina's jogging route.

Karina had attended Archbishop Molloy High School. She graduated with a master's degree from St. John's University in 2015. She currently worked for a food catering company. She was heavily into fitness and was an avid runner. Karina was also an aspiring writer.

Friends describe Karina as a beautiful young woman with a kind spirit. She was full of energy and full of life.

Karina's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She described her father as her best friend. She loved her family and she was loved in return. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.

Karina is survived by many loving friends and family members who will forever miss her.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Karina is in Heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
