Thomas Cheung |
Firefighter Cheung was a member of the Hong Kong Fire Department. He was a senior station officer.
Thomas and numerous other firefighters were attending a four alarm fire at the Ngau Tau Kok industrial storage building on June 21st.
He and another firefighter were inside the building when they were overcome by a sudden rise in temperature and a large volume of smoke. The other firefighter managed to escape and reported the situation. He lost contact with Thomas Cheung. Thomas was soon found unconscious.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where, tragically, he died of his injuries.
Four other firefighters suffered smoke inhalation.
Thomas had attended St. Paul's Anglican College in Hong Kong. He was a graduate of Hong Kong University.

Tragically, Senior fireman Samuel Hui Chi-kit, age 37, from the Kwun Tong fire station, also died fighting this terrible fire. Pray for him. He is a hero of Hong Kong.
