Jorge Ramos |
Sergeant Ramos was a Corrections Officer with the Florida Department of Corrections. He worked out of the South Florida Reception Center. He had 9 years of service.
On April 29, 2016, Jorge had been attending a statewide Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) competition which took place at a correctional institution in Bushnell, Florida.
During the competition, Jorge collapsed and suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital in Tampa, where, tragically, on May 1, 2016, he passed away.
The Florida Department of Corrections is in mourning over the death of their brother. He was a professional and an asset to his comrades. He will be forever remembered.
Jorge's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best.
Light a candle for Jorge. Light his way to Heaven. |
Jorge is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and young daughter.
Thank you for your service to Florida, Jorge.
Pray for all who do their job and who die as a result of it.
Pray that Jorge is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
