Charles Keating IV - U.S. Navy SEAL Fatality - Iraq

Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Charles H. Keating IV, age 31, of San Diego, California, died in the line of duty on May 3, 2016, in an area north of Mosul, Iraq.

He was assigned to a Navy SEAL Team based in Coronado, California. 

Tragically, Charles died of injuries sustained in a combat operation against ISIS, the terrorist organization in Iraq and Syria.

He had been involved in advising and assisting Kurdish Peshmerga militia who are fighting against ISIS forces.

Charles was known as Charlie to his family and friends. 

In 2004, Charles graduated from Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Indiana University where he was into track and field and cross country running.  He then attended the Naval Academy and became a Navy SEAL. 

Charles was engaged to be married to his fiancĂ©e, Brooke Clarke.

athlete. He was a man who wanted to be the best that he could be. He was fearless and an achiever. He was happy in spirit and didn't have a mean bone in his body. He always had a smile on his face and got a kick out of making others laugh. 

All Navy SEALS are in mourning over the death of their brother. He will be forever remembered.

Charles' loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He was loved. He will be forever mourned.

Charles is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Thank you for your service to your country, Charles. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray, without ceasing, unto God for an end to all war.

Pray that Charles is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
