Jack Rose |
Firefighter Rose was a volunteer member of the Mount Marion Fire Department in Saugerties, New York State. He had started volunteering when he was 16 years old.
Around 7:00 p.m., Jack and other firefighters from his department had responded to a report of a chimney fire in Ulster County. The fire had spread and Firefighters entered the basement to get to the source. Jack became separated from his team. He was quickly located and taken outside. He was unconscious. Life-saving procedures were undertaken and Jack was rushed to a hospital in Kingston.
Tragically, Jack succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A funding site has been established to help the family with expenses.
The Mount Marion Fire Department is in mourning over the death of their young brother. Jack had recently been elected by his peers to the position of Captain. He was a popular young man who was liked by all who knew him. He will be forever remembered.

Jack is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.
